Yaseen Idris Abdulqadir and Tahir Idris Abdulqadir these two brothers

were taken away by the Eritrean security authorities in December 2000 and March 2001 respectively.

Continued efforts by their mother to find out their whereabouts have been unsuccessful.

She was rather rebuffed and warned with severe consequences if she contnued asking about them.

Yasin, 23, was arrested on 28 December 2000 in his dormitory room at the University of Asmara premises as he prepared for his final exams as a third-year student in the history department.

A few weeks later, on 12 March 2001, his brother, Taher, 21, who was in the national service and visiting his family during the Eid, was taken away from his family's home in Keren.
